BHABHUA-------------------------A sustained campaign against cattle smugglers has been underway in the district since the new Superintendent of Police, Shikhar Chaudhary, assumed office. In a significant operation, the Durgawati police recovered 40 cattle from a container truck.
According to reports, during a routine patrol, police intercepted a suspicious container truck (registration number BR02GC8667) near the Kotsa canal. Upon inspection, 40 cattle were found inside. During the police action, the driver managed to flee the scene.
The recovered cattle have been seized and, following due legal procedure, placed in safe custody at the Adarsh Pashu Mela (Model Cattle Fair) in Nuaon under a formal handover arrangement. Meanwhile, the police are conducting raids to apprehend the absconding driver.
It is noteworthy that since the new Superintendent of Police took charge, strict action against cattle smuggling has been consistently taken in Kaimur district. Increased police vigilance has caused panic among smugglers, leading to the frequent detection of illegal cattle transport cases. The police have stated that no one involved in cattle smuggling will be spared, and the campaign will continue.
