ACTION TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THOSE WHO ABUSED PM

DELHI--------------------------The 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP) protest concluded on July 25, coinciding with the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. For over a month, CJP supporters and students had been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar. During this period, some individuals made derogatory social media posts targeting the Prime Minister. The Delhi Police is now identifying these individuals; they will be traced through their social media posts, and action will be taken against them.

The Delhi Police stated that they have initiated action regarding derogatory and offensive social media posts that targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. Additionally, the police have issued notices to social media platforms, directing them to remove such posts, videos, and comments. The police stated, "Such content is being identified across various social media platforms."

The police are also investigating whether any content violated the law or had the potential to disrupt public order. According to sources, the Delhi Police's social media monitoring team has been conducting round-the-clock surveillance to identify content related to the protest.

It is worth noting that the protests, which began in May following the NEET paper leak controversy, gradually spread across the country. The CJP launched an indefinite sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20. The movement gained further momentum after activist Sonam Wangchuk joined it. Clashes broke out between the police and protesters during the "Parliament March" on July 20; tear gas shells were fired, and a lathi-charge was also carried out. Several videos of the incident went viral on social media, showing the police detaining protesters and using force. Subsequently, the protests spread to Patna, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.

Finally, on July 25, all three demands of the CJP were accepted, bringing the 37-day-long protest to an end. The CJP's demands included the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, financial assistance of ₹1 crore each to the families of NEET candidates who died by suicide, the withdrawal of FIRs registered against peaceful protesters, and an assurance that no action would be taken against the protesters in the future.
