ARA---------------------Following the directives of the District Magistrate of Bhojpur, Mr. Tanay Sultania, an important meeting of the district's Media Monitoring Cell and Monitoring Unit was held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Mr. Arun Prakash. The meeting aimed to discuss strategies for the regular monitoring of information circulated across various news media and social media platforms, the effective control of misleading information and fake news, and the widespread dissemination of the government's public welfare schemes.

Emphasis was placed on making the monitoring of news circulated via print, electronic, and digital media, as well as social media platforms, more effective. Officials were instructed to ensure prompt verification and necessary action upon identifying any misleading, false, or fake news, thereby curbing rumors in a timely manner and ensuring that accurate and authentic information reaches the general public.

During the meeting, Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Arun Prakash stated that, given the growing influence of social media, the need for rapid information verification and continuous monitoring has become more critical than ever. He directed the concerned officials to ensure the Media Monitoring Cell functions proactively and that immediate, coordinated action is taken regarding any sensitive or misleading information.

Necessary guidelines were also issued to ensure the widespread and effective publicity of government-run public welfare schemes, developmental works, and activities related to the public interest. Officials were instructed to convey accurate information about government schemes to citizens in a timely and effective manner so that the maximum number of people could avail themselves of the benefits of these schemes.

The meeting was attended by the DSP (Cyber ​​Crime), DSP (Headquarters), District Panchayat Raj Officer, District Public Relations Officer, and other concerned officials from various departments. All officials expressed their commitment to making the media monitoring system more effective and ensuring coordinated action against fake news.
