ARA---------------------------A serious road accident occurred late Sunday night on the Phingi-Dakbungalow route (via Saheb Tola) within the jurisdiction of the Bihiya police station in Bhojpur district. An 18-wheeler tanker loaded with cement chemicals lost its balance and overturned on the roadside. Fortunately, both the driver and the helper remained completely safe.

According to reports, the tanker was traveling from Jagdishpur towards the NH-922 Bihiya intersection via the Bihiya-Jagdishpur State Highway-102 bypass. Currently, the movement of heavy vehicles is completely banned due to cracks in the superstructure of the Road Over Bridge (ROB) located on the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay railway section in Bihiya town. Due to this restriction, heavy vehicles are forced to use rural roads as alternative routes.

Regarding the incident, local residents stated that the tanker, which was passing from the direction of the Western Railway crossing via the Saheb Tola Dakbungalow turn, went out of control due to the dilapidated road condition and potholes. Krishna Kumar Yadav, a resident of Saheb Tola and a former ward councilor candidate, expressed anger over the incident, noting that vehicles frequently getting stuck or overturning has become a common occurrence here due to the road's poor state. Despite this, the concerned department has taken no concrete steps toward road construction or repair.

Local resident Monu Sharma breathed a sigh of relief, noting that the incident occurred at night, preventing any loss of life. Had the disruption occurred during busy daytime hours, the situation could have been catastrophic. Residents have demanded that the administration immediately repair the road and remove the overturned tanker so that traffic flow can be restored smoothly.

It is worth noting that the ban on heavy vehicles on the ROB has increased the pressure on smaller routes. The continuous movement of heavy vehicles along this route has left the road in a completely dilapidated state, causing local residents to face immense difficulties in their daily lives.
