Hyderabad: Pi Health Cancer Hospital hosts “Play for Pink” badminton tournament to raise cancer awareness

HYDERABAD OCT 26 (RNI) Pi Health Cancer Hospital organized a unique badminton tournament titled “Play for Pink” at A-Zone, Kondapur in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Earlier this year, the hospital had announced its goal to screen 10,000 people for cancer, and as of now, screenings for 2,000 individuals have already been completed, with a major focus on breast cancer screening for women. To mark this milestone and raise awareness about cancer, the hospital hosted this special badminton tournament under the Play for Pink initiative.

Alongside the event, Pi Health also launched “Healing Orbit”, a virtual community designed to support cancer patients and their families. Many patients struggle with a lack of emotional, financial, and informational support during their treatment journey.

Healing Orbit aims to bridge this gap by providing a safe space where patients and their loved ones can share their experiences, seek advice, discuss treatment concerns, and find emotional comfort. The hospital will actively assist members who seek help through this community.

The hospital also plans to promote cancer awareness through initiatives focusing on the four ‘Cs’ Clinicians, Colleges, Corporates, and Community.

These four sectors represent key pillars of society, and by engaging them, the hospital aims to spread awareness about cancer to every corner of the community. In line with this idea, Play for Pink invited representatives from all four sectors as chief guests, including Dr. S. Raghurami Reddy, Surgical Oncologist at Pi Health Cancer Hospital; Venkatesh Chari, Principal of Pragya Degree and PG College; Chaitanya Kanti, Vice President – HR at Smart IMS Inc.; and Chennamohan, General Secretary of the Padmasali Welfare Association, Ameenpur Mandal.

The main objective of Play for Pink is to promote accessible, affordable, and globally standardized cancer care for everyone while creating greater public awareness. Pi Health Cancer Hospital follows evidence-based protocols, employs advanced technology, and adopts patient-centric approaches to deliver world-class treatment at affordable costs. With experienced oncologists, state-of-the-art facilities, and a strong commitment to quality outcomes, the hospital ensures that every patient receives the best possible care.

The hospital extended heartfelt thanks to all players, participants, and guests who made the event a success. Play for Pink is not just a sports tournament it is a platform to spread hope, strength, and awareness in the fight against cancer.
