BHABHUA----------------------Significant public outrage is evident in the Kudra Nagar Panchayat area of the district, stemming from alleged negligence on the part of the municipal administration. The issue revolves around the dumping and subsequent burning of garbage near a Peepal tree in Kudra. Local residents allege that the Nagar Panchayat had been dumping waste at this specific location for a prolonged period, after which the refuse was set on fire. As a result of the fire and smoke, the Peepal tree—which holds immense religious significance—is now on the verge of withering away.
Residents stated that the Peepal tree has been a site of worship and religious rituals for years, and people in the surrounding area regard it as a symbol of faith. However, the tree has suffered damage due to the negligence of the Nagar Panchayat, sparking indignation among the public. Residents further complain that the dumping and burning of garbage are causing foul odors to permeate the entire locality, in addition to negatively impacting the environment. Meanwhile, the shortage of drinking water near the Kudra bus stand remains a serious issue. Amidst the scorching heat and blazing sun, passersby and travelers are unable to access drinking water; yet, the Nagar Panchayat has taken no initiative to address the situation.
Passersby remarked that the lack of water facilities at a public venue like a bus stand during this summer season is deeply unfortunate. Travelers arriving from distant places are compelled to wander aimlessly in search of water.
