SASARAM---------------------------Panic ensued today after a fire broke out in the Sasaram-Patna Passenger train. At the time of the incident, the train was standing at the platform.
Regarding this matter, Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer, stated that at approximately 5:30 AM, a report was received regarding smoke emanating from a coach of Train No. 53212 (Down) Sasaram-Patna Passenger, which was standing at Platform No. 6 of Sasaram Station. The said train was stationary at the platform, and no passengers were present in the coach at that time.
He added that immediately upon receiving information about the incident, railway personnel present at the station isolated the smoke-emitting coach at 6:00 AM and promptly alerted the fire brigade, summoning them to the scene. Thanks to the swift action taken with the assistance of the railway staff, the fire was completely brought under control by 6:05 AM.
The East Central Railway asserts that neither any passenger nor any railway employee sustained any injury in the incident. The causes of the incident are currently under investigation.
