PATNA--------------------------Today was a very important day for the politics of Bihar. The nomination process for 10 Legislative Council seats in the state has been completed, after which the way has been cleared for unopposed elections on all these seats. Today's developments have heated up discussions in the political circles of Bihar.

In today's nomination process, a total of 9 candidates filed their nominations from NDA, which also includes the by-election to be held on the vacant seat of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. At the same time, a candidate from the opposition party RJD has filed his nomination papers. Since only 10 candidates have filed nominations for a total of 10 seats, there will be no need for voting and it has been decided that all the candidates will be elected unopposed.

Some major changes have been seen in the nomination process this time. Bharatiya Janata Party has made full preparations to formally send popular artist 'Power Star' Pawan Singh to the Upper House. At the same time, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar is also going to become a part of the House as an unopposed Legislative Councilor for the next 6 years. In the upcoming Legislative Council session, the view of the House will be worth seeing amidst new faces and changed circumstances.

The most shocking news in this election has come about Deepak Prakash. Since Deepak Prakash did not file his nomination even till the last day of nomination, it has become clear that his card has been cut. Although official confirmation was awaited till the end of the deadline for nomination, but after this development, political analysts believe that Deepak Prakash may soon resign from his ministerial post. His name being out of the race for candidature is indicating a major reshuffle in the politics of the state.

The effect of Deepak Prakash not getting the ticket is being seen within the NDA also. Upendra Kushwaha's displeasure with this decision has come out openly. While giving his response, he said that Deepak Prakash has been an ally of JDU and his association with NDA is with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party. It will be interesting to see which direction this change takes in the politics of Bihar.
